Timeless Transformations.

With the release of Gardenstate’s ‘Inspirations’ album and their following world tour, we were approached to create a series of promotional videos, bringing to life the still album and single artworks which used 3D LiDAR scans of the artists’ heads.

Approach

We incorporated the 3D LiDAR busts into flora masses, utilising lighting and cinematography to build them up to a megalithic scale, akin to Cambodian temples lost to time yet timeless, beneath the untamed foliage of the jungle. This visual narrative unfolded through the depiction of the LiDAR busts as archaeological artefacts steeped in history and mystery. The sculptures underwent constant evolution, manifesting as deities, museum pieces, or concealed beneath layers of overgrowth, with each single adopting its own sculpture and unique colour palette, flora and fauna.

Outcome

The visuals we created were among the first (now ubiquitous) Spotify canvases ever published and featured on BBC news as such. The canvasses we crafted went viral and the album has received over 48 million streams to date. Our underlying concept portrayed these heads as enduring motifs traversing through time and space, consistently resurfacing throughout history and the album's success has proved a testament to this. Each manifestation contributed to the rich tapestry of GardenState's visual storytelling and developed the artists’ appeal to their global fanbase.
